What Is
Overeaters Anonymous (OA)?
Overeaters Anonymous is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.
There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations.
OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology or religious doctrine. We take no position on outside issues. Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive overeating and to carry this message of recovery to those who still suffer.

What is Northern New Mexico OA Intergroup (NNMOAIG)?
The Northern New Mexico Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous is composed of volunteer representatives from our area's OA meetings. The purpose of Intergroup is to represent the interests of local OA meetings at the spring and fall conferences of OA Region III, which includes delegates from New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah.
In turn, OA Region III sends representatives to the annual OA World Service conference to communicate the concerns of our regional meetings and to vote on issues relevant to OA as a whole.
On the local level, the Northern New Mexico OA Intergroup helps coordinate retreats and other special events; plan and execute outreach to the general public via local print, radio, TV, and other media; and collect free-will donations from individual meetings so that Intergroup, Region III, and World Service as a whole can pay their operating expenses.
